Adverts placed on Scooter trader MUST be legal, decent and honest. Adverts must include a full descritpion of the item(s) being sold, along with any defects or missing parts.
Adverts on this system are LIMITED to scooter-related goods and services from private advertisers only.

We also do not allow personal adverts, or adverts containing bad language, personal claims, unresonable demands or illegal content.
We do not allow adverts offering real animal tails for sale. This practice is condoned by Scootering Magazine.
We also delete duplicate adverts - and often delete ALL copies of an advert that has been deliberatly posted multiple times.

We may decide (without notice) to delete adverts with non-scooter goods or adverts contain explicit words or illegal content.
Please keep your adverts brief and to the point.
Do not use HTML-code in your adverts.

Scooter Trader.com reserves the right to refuse any advert and block users from posting without reason.
This system is monitored by UK authorities, and illegal adverts will be forwarded to such authorities for them to pursue.

Scooter Trader . com is now recording IP addresses with every posting.

This means we can track YOU down no matter what email address you use when posting.

The posting of abusive, false and illegal adverts will not be tolerated.
Offenders will be reported to their ISP - and then to the Police if the matter continues.

• eBAY 'plugging' on Scooter Trader

In response to complaints and the increasing use of this site to simply plug eBay sales, we are no longer allowing adverts which simply include a URL to an eBay item with a variation of wording such "Check out this on eBay!"

Scooter Trader will allow you to mention the eBay item number, BUT only if you also include the full details and price to be offered to Scooter Trader customers.
Adverts that do not allow Scooter Trader customers to contact you directly regarding your item with basic details will be deleted from this site. Users who continue to post eBay items after requesting not to do so will be denied access.

In the coming months we will be altering Scooter Trader to allow photo adverts and private messaging which will help combat scam emailing. Watch the front page for further news.

This site is being subjected to email scams.

These scams normally involve poor written English by foreign 'buyers'. They offer MORE then you are asking - and sometimes try to send you a cheque for thousands more then the cost - and then ask you to deduct your payment and post the remainder on. They also try to get you to SHIP the goods out to them.

Needless to say, the original cheque will bounce (and this can take up to 2 weeks or more to bounce) and you will lose your money AND your scooter.

PLEASE use caution when replying to any email from overseas (or in UK!) - any offer that is too good to be true IS. Any offer that doesn't make sense, or seems 'strange' - ignore it. Any offer that has badly written English, or any buyer you cannot talk to by telephone - be very cautious of!!

You have been warned. Do not LOSE your scooter to greed or ignorance. If you are really in doubt, you may contact us to ask if the offer of £300K for your Lammy is true. We promise not to laugh too loudly at you.

How long does my advert stay on the Scootertrader.com website?

If you place an advert at Scootertrader.com you will be asked for how long it shall be online (1-4 weeks). After that period your advert will be removed automatically. If you need to remove your advert earlier, you can remove it yourself with your personal ID and password you state in the form you have to fill in when you post your ad.

I've posted an advert / adverts and now they have dissappeared!

If you place a wanted advert into the sales section; placed duplicate adverts into one section - or have posted your advert through every section in one category (50cc, up to 125cc, over 125cc & parts):
Then we have deleted them!!

Adverts in the wrong sections just annoy people. They won't help you sell it quicker, but will invite some ridicule from people asking if you cannot tell the difference between 'For Sale' and 'Wanted'.
Please ensure your advert is in the right category under the right section to avoid the trader police.

ADVERTS NOT ALLOWED ON THIS SYSTEM

Illegal adverts are not allowed, these include:
• Firearms
• Logbooks WITHOUT A Frame
• Frames WITHOUT a logbook.
• Animals and animal parts. i.e. Foxtails
• Drugs, alcohol
• Solicitation of services

How long is an advert stated to be "new"?

If you place an advert, it is shown as "new" on the starting page of each section for 7 days.

How can I read the small adverts?

You chose a section from the top navigation bar and then get a variety of categories within this section (sorted by capacities / parts). You can enter a category (e.g. 50cc) by clicking on the little icon beside the name of the category.

How do I delete my advert?

There are two ways to delete your advert:
1. You click on the 'remove' link at the bottom of each page and fill in the fields in the form that comes up next. You need your ID and personal password to remove your advert.
2. You browse to the advert you want to delete and click on the 'remove' link in the head of your advert. Then you just need your personal password to delete your advert, the ID is filled in automatically.

How do I reply to an advert that I am interested in?

You can send an email to the person who placed the advert by clicking on the name at the end of the ad. If the person stated his/her telephone number you can give him a ring (note the country code!) as well.

Ooops, I placed my advert twice (accidentally - of course!)

It' fair enough that you place your advert only once in a section / category, because no one is interested in two or more adverts that are the same basically.
If you did a mistake or mistyped for example your email address or telephone number, feel free to place a new and correct advert, but please do not forget to delete your old / wrong one.
You can help to make this site the most interesting of scooter enthusiasts all over the world by placing your advert only once. Only if this site is not bombed with too many adverts that are all the same, the site will be interesting enough to others, get more users and thererfore the chance of your advert being successful will rise.

I forgot my password and cannot delete my advert now.

Usually (if you stated your right email address) you get all the information you posted including your ID and personal password sent automatically. Use the ID and password to remove your ad.  It's best to chose a password that you can remember easily in case you delete/do not receive your confimation email.
If there is no way to remember your password, you can either wait until your advert is removed automatically or send us an 'emergency'-email and we will remove your advert. In the latter case please don't forget to state, where your advert is (section/category) and which one it is!

Will my advert also go into Scootering / Twist & Go magazine?.

Maybe!
As this site is updated every minute, if we move adverts into the magazine it maybe 2 weeks or more before your advert is then published. There's a good chance you may have sold it already or it may help you get buyer you need.

However, we reserve the right to copy adverts from this site into our magazines (Scootering / Twist & Go) as space allows.

It's important that you delete your advert from this site as soon as your item is sold.

I would like to place a picture of my scooter with my small ad.

We would like to offer this service to you, but with about 700+ new adverts a month, we would have a big problem with ressources and performance if any of our users would upload one or even more pictures (of any size).
We recommend that you offer to send pictures of your scooters by email to those who are interested. That would keep traffic on our server down and performance up.

We are upgrading the service, and hope to offer photo adverts in the near future.

You used to have personals and club adverts at Scootertrader.com, but I can't find that now.

We put up a club and event database at www.scootering.com which offers events and contacts from all over the world.
Automatic scooter meets can be found on www.twistngo.com

TRADE ADVERTISING

Trade Advertising is not allowed on Scooter Trader. If an advert has been found to have been placed by a trader, then they are liable to the charge of £50 + VAT per insertion - administration fee.

By placing adverts on this system you agree to this condition and are liable for this charge should it be found you are dealing.
* Buying/selling more then 3 vehicles in a YEAR constitutes dealing under current UK law.
